Garden Workday on September 19th
As many of you know, our school has a quarter acre garden and outdoor classroom where students have the opportunity to learn about planting, harvesting, and tending all while exploring the natural world around them. As you can imagine, this kind of living environment needs regular care. This is where we need you! Come join Yellow and Purple Room on Monday, September 19 from 2:15-3:30 to help us ready the garden for student planting and exploration. Any questions can be directed to Kristin Thomas at kthomas@mmcharter.org.
Thank you!
WatchDOGS
If you weren’t able to make the breakfast and would still like to be a WatchDOG, our electronic calendar sign is up and linked HERE. We still have a couple spots open during the Fall Session. Monday WatchDOGS shifts are 8:30a-1:45p; Tuesday-Friday shifts are 8:30a - 3:00p.
Heads up - Upcoming e-blasts over the next couple of weeks
We’re going to be sending several parent emails beyond The Flyer over the next few weeks, including:
Fall After School Club Sign-ups;
Confidential Annual Parent Income Survey; and
Confidential Annual Family Homeless Survey
With regards to the upcoming surveys, we would greatly appreciate 100% participation with all of our families. For example, while school breakfast and hot lunch are free this year, there are other possible services available for kids that qualify for ‘free and reduced’ lunch based on the income survey, including things like school clothes shopping via the Placer County Assistance League, possible free access to our Before/Afterschool Care Program and more.
Waitlist Update
We’re still in the process of making some Waiting List calls to fill our limited remaining K-8th grade spots. In an effort to keep our grade levels balanced, at this point in particular we are looking for a few more 3rd grade girls and 5th grade boys. If you happen to know a family that fits this and you think they’d be a good fit at our school, encourage them to submit an application to our Waiting List, available on our website here.
Mosquito Fire - Placer SPCA Project
A local Girls Scout Troop with kids from our school are doing a collection effort on behalf of the Placer County SPCA. Please see the Flyer below for more information.
