In the meantime, Winter sports is already starting next week with Girls Soccer Team Tryouts on 10/21 and 10/22 afterschool and practices beginning on 10/23. ORANGE ROOM HIGHLIGHT
Mrs. Garcia has been with MMCA since 2012. She started as an aide in our Learning Center and in 2013 joined the Orange Room where she currently teaches with Mrs. Cohodes. Beginning in 2023, Mrs. Garcia also added the title of Assistant Director. In this role, Mrs. Garcia planned last week’s Staff Development Day for our teachers where they learned new tips and tools to enhance our physical education program and also learned ways to support student mental health and prioritize staff self-care. Our teachers then enjoyed an offsite lunch at Siino’s for some collaboration time.
Some other fun facts about Mrs. Garcia: She loves football and riding motorcycles. She graduated from Sac State with an Exercise Science degree and worked as an athletic trainer and physical therapist. She enjoys traveling, especially all over the US and Europe. Mrs. Garcia has also been enjoying volunteering this Fall as the only female chain gang operator for the Whitney High School Frosh Football Team.
