Casey
On behalf of our entire school community, I’d like to express our appreciation for the outpouring of support as we deal with the tragic loss of our friend and colleague Casey Rivara. We’ve had some parents asking us questions like “How can I help my child deal with this loss?” We’ve also received a lot of inquiries from our families basically asking “what can we do to help?” In that spirit, here are a few things that I’d like to share with our community:
Possible resources to assist with dealing with loss:
This was originally posted by Casey’s wife Angel on our MMCA PTA private Facebook page - I wanted to make sure all of our families saw this:
We have been deeply touched by the overwhelming love and support we've received for Casey Rivara and our family in these past few days. We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to all of you for the kind messages and gestures of kindness. It's truly humbling to hear how Casey has positively impacted your lives, and we're extremely grateful for that.
Considering the incredible stories shared by many of you, we want to capture all of those wonderful memories of Casey in a beautiful book, one that our children can turn to whenever they miss him. This book will serve as a lasting tribute to his life, showcasing the profound impact he had on those around him.
Please share your thoughts HERE.
3. We are going to create a memorial bench with trees that we’re going to place in our MMCA Garden. Our PTA President Crystal Schubert is taking the lead on this. 100% of proceeds collected via the QR code below will go towards the Memorial.

.Summer School 2023 update
Summer School 2023 enrollment is now open to ALL MMCA students on a ‘1st come, 1st serve’ basis. We have limited (3 spots or less) space left for each 2nd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th grade. Summer School teachers will include some combination of Saisha Medeiros, Carol Royal, Darlene Harper, Chrystee Boothby, Adam Barnes and Alison Watkins. If you are interested in enrolling your child(ren) for Summer School, enrollment is now available to ALL MMCA families, and starts with filling out a Summer School RSVP at this link. The deadline for Summer School enrollment is 5/30/23 at 6:00 a.m.
Medication Pick-up
Unless your child will be attending Summer Camp or Summer School, please pick up their medications on the last day of school on June 1st (or on June 29th if they are attending summer school). We do not store them over the summer. Also, please plan to have a new medical form filled out and signed by the doctor for the next school year by the first day of school.
Lost and Found
We have A LOT of stuff within our Lost and Found! We are going to leave these pictures in the Flyer for the last few weeks of school as a reminder for parents to come check out our Lost and Founds, and there’s a decent chance something that belongs to your child(ren) is there!
