Thursday Flyer 10.22.2020
Reopening Updates / Reminders:
We’ve extended our hybrid schedule through the weeks of 10/26, 11/2 and 11/9 to make sure the County actually stays 'Orange';
We are setting a tentative return to '5 day’ instruction for the week of 11/16 (based on Placer County being solidly within the ‘orange’ level; and
We are going to make the entire week of 11/16 Minimum Days with P-T Conferences during the afternoons of Tuesday - Friday (currently 3 of the days are scheduled as 'Minimum Days' for conferences)
During this three week extension of ‘hybrid’, we will continue to offer ‘During School’ care at the same times and rates for our families. Here is the link to the Before/During/Aftercare form for 10.26-11.13: https://c42096c6-2e4d-493d-bdff-126f872232dd.filesusr.com/ugd/4b8266_7567937a0c5a40cbb25042b0224a1dea.pdf (also available on the Before/Aftercare page on our website). Again, childcare will be available to any student who is physically at school that day. Please note: There is a typo on this form: the rate for ‘during school’ care periods continues to be $10, not $15.
P.S. - Please continue completing our DAILY symptom check before bringing your child to school. This is available here: https://c42096c6-2e4d-493d-bdff-126f872232dd.filesusr.com/ugd/4b8266_fb4006e5756b486680d8819f0d09d41f.pdf
Hot Lunch
The USDA announced recently that free meals have been extended through the school year (June 2021). MMCA will only receive a reimbursement for meals served, so please pick up your orders (or don’t order them if you know you won’t be able to pick them up). Also, remember to fill out the free or reduced price application form (even the income portion). The application can be found here: https://c42096c6-2e4d-493d-bdff-126f872232dd.filesusr.com/ugd/4b8266_991b84cfd9474bd5aced4f09bb25a53c.pdf
If you’re new to Boonli (our lunch ordering system), instructions for setting up an account can be found on our website under the hot lunch link https://www.mmcharter.org/hot-lunch. After you set up your child’s account you will need to email Denise at dthorman@mmcharter.org to change the status from paid to free.
Emergency Cards
We are doing much better with Emergency Card collection. For clarification we needed parents to do both the Data Confirmation in Aeries (https://aeriesportal.placercoe.k12.ca.us/Parent/MMCA/LoginParent.aspx) AND print and sign the Emergency Card. We need it signed so we know that a parent reviewed the contact and medical information If your child’s is still outstanding, please sign the copy we sent home last week and return it to the office or your child’s teacher.
Virtual Pumpkin Decorating Contest!
In lieu of the Harvest Festival, our PTA is hosting a virtual pumpkin decorating contest. There will be classroom themes and a prize for the winner of each grade level! Please see the flyer below for more information.
Lincoln Library Tutoring
Our friends with the Lincoln Public Library are providing 1:1 tutoring/homework session help to students via Zoom. This is free to the public. They have (12) 30 minute sessions available a day, between the hours of 2:30-4:30, Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. They know that a lot of our students used their Homework Center pre-COVID, and wanted to share this opportunity with our school community. Their program flyer for this is below. Their target age group is grades k-8 , but they can easily make exceptions for high school students as well.
Here is the link to the scheduling site for parents to schedule a session: https://libraryatlincoln.as.me/homeworkhelp
