APEX UPDATE

Our annual APEX fundraiser has kicked off and is off to a strong start! We are excited to welcome back A-Train who is leading us through this year’s topic: FUTURE leaders. Each day our squads (aka classrooms) have a lesson led by A-Train. Ask your student about all the fun activities we do to learn about how to be a great FUTURE leader!

Day two: FUTURE leaders are GRATEFUL
Day three: FUTURE leaders show RESPECT
Day four (today): FUTURE leaders practice KINDNESS
Day five: FUTURE leaders do what’s RIGHT

In terms of pledges and donations, we’re right on pace with last year’s results. Our login rate is currently at 85%, and we’re averaging 10.91 shares per student—just a few away from the national record of 14.0 shares per student, with a total of 3,069 shares so far. No doubt we will surpass last year’s 3,216 shares!

Purple Room’s “Dali” creations are on display now in the front office by the back door. Stop by and see them up close!

GARDEN UPDATE

There is a garden committee meeting next Tuesday, February 11 at 5:30pm in the Conference Room. We have openings for jobs that do not involve dirt and also some that do involve dirt! (i.e., Big Day of Giving helpers, donation solicitations, monthly lesson coordinator, compost bin helpers, and more!). Please contact Mrs. Thomas at kthomas@mmcharter.org with questions.

LOST AND FOUND REMINDER

We donate unclaimed items on the last day of each month. If all items (mostly jackets, lunch boxes, and water bottles) were labeled with student names, we could easily return the items to their owners. We had 8 items returned in January because a name was on it. We LOVE it when our lost items find their way home!

MMCA Student Leadership - Spiritwear and ‘Navy Fridays’!

Calling all Mustangs! Our MMCA Leadership students are starting a new tradition called ‘Navy Friday’ where we wear a navy shirt on selected Fridays to promote school spirit. The Leadership team has designed a t-shirt for students, staff, volunteers (really anyone that wants to wear one!) to wear on these Fridays. The Leadership students will be going around to each class to promote the “Navy Friday” t-shirt. Online orders are being accepted now on our website. We will collect orders throughout February. The cost of the Leadership t-shirt is $14. The first ‘Navy Friday’ will be after we have delivered our first round of spiritwear t-shirts (date TBA).
