Dear M.M.C.A Families,
With about 2 weeks to go before school starts, I would like to take this opportunity to write each of you a quick update with the second of our Summer Flyers!
We will be sending this Summer Flyer electronically via our Google Apps Email Distribution Group, posting it to our website, and posting it to our FACEBOOK page. If you did not receive this Flyer via email, please 1) check your Spam folder and 2) email us at mmca@mmcharter.org with SUBSCRIBE in the subject line so that we can make sure that you are on our distribution list.

Electronic Communications Data Update
Heads up: Earlier this week we sent a brief Google-Doc based data confirmation form for each of our families that will include opportunities to update phone numbers and email addresses. We will use this information within our OneCall telecommunication and texting system and to update our school email distribution databases. If you have not already filled out this form, please do so ASAP by clicking the link HERE.
School Calendar
The updated 2024-2025 school calendar is on the website HERE. Please note that we are continuing to use the Google Apps Calendar on our website for our current events calendar.
MMCA Breakfast / Hot Lunch Program
Time to talk School breakfast and lunch. MMCA participates in the National School Lunch Program (aka, “NSLP”). This means that we will serve both breakfast and lunch on almost all of our school days to every student that wants it.
This year again in California, all breakfast and lunches ordered for students are FREE - there is no cost.
Within our NSLP program, our onsite school lead is Jenefer Mikels (jmikels@mmcharter.org). In addition, we have two partners outside of our school for our NSLP program:
Revolution Foods: Rev Foods is our food/beverage supplier for our NSLP program
Boonli: Boonli is the online ordering platform we use for our families
Order deadlines for breakfast/lunch are ONE WEEK in advance of the week being served. Example: Orders placed by Sunday, 8/12/24 @ 11:59 pm will be for the week of 8/20/24.
How to order breakfast / lunch:
Returning families that already have a Boonli account: Login to your account and place your order. Menus for both breakfast and lunch are available for August.
New families that need to create a Boonli account:

Note: It’s going to ask what classroom your child is in - don’t worry about that - just select a classroom that has your child’s grade level, and we will get them adjusted after class rosters are finalized. CH=preschool, K-1 = Purple/Yellow, 2-3= Red/Blue, 4-5=Aqua/Coral, 6=Orange, 7-8=Green.
School Store Update:
We’ve updated the links on our School Store page to make both school supply orders and school uniform orders electronic. http://www.mmcharter.org/store. Specifically:
Student Supplies:
New parents: One of our traditions at MMCA has been to bulk buy the core student school supplies on behalf of our families. We’ve done this for two reasons:
To save you the time, energy and hassle of going to several different stores to pick up all of the items on our published school supplies list; and
To save you SIGNIFICANT $ by bulk-buying these supplies on your behalf.
Supplies are delivered right to your child’s classroom and will be waiting for them on the first day of school.
The 2024-2025 school supplies list information is now posted on our website. Depending on grade level, our ACTUAL cost for these supplies is approximately $95-$135 per student. We are going to continue the promotion we did last year related to school supplies:
Buy early and save! Purchase supplies for only $60 now thru thru 8/14; and $85 after 8/14 and beyond. School Supplies can be purchased on our website at this link: http://mmcharter.org/store
