Dear M.M.C.A families,
Can you believe we’re only two weeks away from the start of school!!!??? Over the next 10 days, we’ll be sending out 2-3 more Summer Flyers that will include more specific information about ordering breakfast & hot lunches, signing up for Before/After school care, “coming back to school basics”, and much more!
In the meantime, here are a couple items that we would like to update you about.

Summer Updates
MMCA Summer Office Hours: Tuesdays & Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The updated 2022-2023 school calendar is on the website HERE. BELL SCHEDULE REMINDER: On Mondays, we have changed our early release time for K-8th Grade to 1:50p (reason: Whitney/Rocklin High Schools have changed their dismissal to 2:00p on Mondays). Also please note that we are continuing to use the Google Apps Calendar on our website for our current events calendar.
REMINDER: Prior year Yearbooks have arrived, and they may be picked up from the office during Summer Office Hours.
Part Time Paid Employment Opportunities at M.M.C.A.
First off, CONGRATULATIONS to Tarah and Josh who just had their baby! Given that, we’re looking for substitutes while they are on maternity leave, including:
Long Term Substitute (approximately start of school to October) Food Server for breakfast and hot lunch;
Long Term Substitute (approximately start of school to October) Before Care Instructional Aide; and
Long Term Substitute (approximately start of school to October) Lunch Supervisor
Additionally, we have a couple part-time full school year positions available, including:
RSP Instructional Aide
Preschool Afterschool Care

Heads up regarding parent volunteers and upcoming events / activities:
We’re two weeks out from the start of school, and it’s time to start thinking ahead / looking for volunteers on several activities, including:
Athletics - Fall Sports include: Cross Country (for 4th-8th grade students, no tryouts), Boys’ Flag Football (5th-8th grade students, there are tryouts) and Girls’ Basketball (5th-8th Grade Girls, there are tryouts)
Clubs - Post COVID-19, we’re looking to get our After School Clubs going again, and we’re going to be looking for parent volunteers to lead them. Examples of some of the clubs we’ve offered in the past include: Arts & Crafts, karate, ballet, sports-related clubs, chess, etc. If you’re interested in leading a club, please contact our After School Clubs Coordinator Ray Baldonade at rbaldonade@mmcharter.org.
School-based* parent volunteer positions, including:

MMCA Yearbook Committee
MMCA Community Garden
Drop-off / Pick-up Support

*We will have lots of classroom-based parent volunteer opportunities as well, but those will eventually be coordinated by each classroom’s teachers.
