Aqua Room Field Trips

How They Work

We try to go on a field trip each month. We will send home a permission slip with all of the information on the form. You are to sign the form and let us know if you can be a driver and how many students you can take.

In the Aqua Room, we ask that you pay up front for all the field trips for your child. We have the checks go to our field trip coordinator, Chrystee Boothby. The cost of the field trips for the 2010-2011 school year is $78.00. Checks can be made to Chrystee Boothby.

Our Field Trip Policies

School-wide

  • During a field trip you are responsible for the children who are in your car. That means they should be with you at all times.

·         We do not allow you to buy anything for the students in your car.

·         We have a policy that everyone try to wear their MMCA t-shirts (white with globe on back) so that we are able to "spot" everyone on the field trip. We highly encourage the parents who are driving to wear an MMCA t-shirt as well. They can be purchased through the school.

·         Anybody who plans on driving on our field trips needs to turn in a copy of their driver's license and insurance card to the office so that we have it on file.

Classroom Based

·         If your child does not turn in his/her field trip form by the date stated on the slip, they may not be able to attend the field trip. It is very important that we get the slips turned in on time so that we can plan seating arrangements and make sure we have reservations for the correct number of students.

·         Field trips are a privilege. If a child is having disciplinary issues in the classroom, he/she may not be able to attend an upcoming field trip. If this is the case, we will notify you in advance.

September: Sacramento History Museum and Train Museum
Date: Friday, September 24th
Time: 9:30 am - 12:00 pm (leave school at 9:00 am)
Location: Old Town Sacramento, CA
Costs: $10.00 per student

October: Challenger Space Mission: Rendezvous with Comet Halley
Date: Friday, October 22nd (need to confirm)
Time: 9:00 am - 11:30 pm We will leave school at 8:30 am and return by 12:15 pm
Location: Auburn Blvd.
Costs: $16.00 per student

November: ExplorIt Science Center (comes to us)
Date: Friday November 19th
Time: 9:15-11:30 am
Location: MMCA
Costs: $8.00 per student

  • The goal of this field trip is to have the students learn how to be a team and work together. This is a great field trip where the kids get the hands on experience of working together, cooperating and listening to what everyone is saying while simulating a space mission to find Comet Halley. It is an expensive field trip, but worth every penny when throughout the year when we have built that trust level up with one another.
  • Field Trip forms are due back to class no later than: Friday, November 6th.

December: Bowl A Thon (fundraiser for Coloma, Sly park and Washington DC)
Date: Friday, December 10th
Time: 11:00-12:00 We leave school at 10:45 am and return by 12:15pm
Location: Rocklin Lanes, Rocklin, CA
Costs: $5.00 per person

  • YOU ONLY GET TO ATTEND THIS TRIP IF YOU HAVE PLEDGES
  • Field Trip forms are due back to class no later than: Thursday December 2nd
  • Pledge forms need to be turned in no later than Wednesday December 8th.

January: B Street Theatre Performance (Young Abe Lincoln)
Date: Friday, January 28th
Time: 9:30-11:00. We leave school at 8:45 am. We return to school no later than 11:45 am
Location: B Street Theatre, downtown Sacramento
Costs: $8.00 per student

February: Extreme Gymnastics (Loomis) & Mon Art Studio (on campus)
Date: Friday, February 25th
Time: 10:15 am to 11:30 am for Extreme. We will leave at 9:45 am and return by 12:00 pm. Monart will be from 1-2:30.
Location:  off Swetzer in Loomis
Costs: $10 per student

March: Walk Thru Time (to us)
Date: Friday March 25th

April: Roseville Utility Exploration Center
Date: Friday April 8th
Time: 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. We leave school at 9:40 am and return by 1:20 pm. BROWN BAG LUNCH REQUIRED
Location: Roseville Utility Center off Pleasant Grove Blvd.
Costs: $5.00 per student

May: Roller King
Date: Wednesday, May 11th
Time: 9:30-11:30
Location: Roller King Skate Center off of Riverside in Roseville, CA
Costs: $4 per person who is skating
Form: Roller King Field Trip
  • The goal of this field trip is to let the students have a good time to celebrate that another year of state testing is finished. This trip gets the entire school together for a great morning of roller skating and socializing. It is a free dress day, but please use parental discretion on what is appropriate clothing. The cost is for regular skates, if you want to rent roller blades that will be an additional fee. You can bring money for snacks, but realize the video games will not be available for playing.

May: 5th grade - Sly Park Science Camp (NOT PART OF THE PREPAID FIELD TRIPS)
Date: Monday May 23 - Friday, May 27
Time: Leave the 23rd at 9:00 am and return the 27th by 2:30 pm
Location: Sly Park Environmental Education Center in Polluck Pines, CA
Costs: $260 per student
Form: Sly Park Science Camp Field Trip
  • The goal of this field trip is to have the 5th graders learn about science in the great outdoors. It's an awesome experience that they will talk about for years to come. Your 5th grader will have MANY opportunities to raise the funds for this science camp throughout the year. Realize, whatever they do not fundraise becomes the responsibility of the parent.

April: Bekeart's Gun Shop in Coloma - 4th Gold Rush trip (NOT PART OF THE PREPAID FIELD TRIPS)
Date: Thursday May 26th
Time: 8:30 am - 4:00 pm
Location: 349 Hwy 49 in Coloma
Costs: $32 per student
Form: Bekeart's Gun Shop Field Trip
  • The goal of this field trip is to have the 4th graders learn about the Gold Rush through hands on activities. We will pan for gold, tinsmith, make leather pouches and pack a wagon. Lunch will be provided by the Gun Shop, it will be an authentic "gold rush" lunch. It is an all day trip, We will need to leave school at 8:30 am and we will get back to school around 4:00 pm (AFTER SCHOOL IS OUT).
